The M177/M178 4.0 BiTurbo V8 is one of AMG’s most advanced and capable engines — lightweight, strong, and incredibly responsive to tuning. With its hot-V twin-turbo layout, robust internals and intelligent ECU/TCU systems, the platform delivers huge performance gains safely and reliably when calibrated correctly.
This engine powers AMG’s flagship models, including the C63 (W205), E63 (W213), G63 (W463A 2019+), and the S63 (W222 facelift 2018–2020), as well as AMG GT models and high-performance SUVs such as the GLC63, GLE63 and GLS63.
